Examples of Our Work
Our commercial customers include a local horse stud; a local farm where we have planted many trees and hedges; a garden centre; engineering companies; office accommodation; holiday lettings; residential lettings, a building company, a town council and a parish council. We have also tidied gardens for many individuals and families in Thetford and Stowmarket and surrounding villages. Our social gardening has restored 320 gardens free of charge for the disabled, elderly or vulnerable. The following section shows some examples of the gardening work and projects that we have undertaken.
Icewell Hill
Icewell Hill was an area of deprivation in Newmarket which was neglected and beset with problems involving anti-social behaviour. Flagship Housing commissioned a lighting designer to change the lighting around the estate and tasked us with redesigning and planting the huge, raised beds there. Raoul, our senior gardener, did all the designing of the beds, sourced the plants and oversaw the planting. The estate was transformed and, anecdotally, the social issues have improved considerably. Where the estate was covered in litter, it is now tidy and well cared for.
Tree and Hedge Planting
We have carried out a large amount of tree and hedge planting for a local estate over 2023 and 2024. We have planted about 450 trees and several miles of hedgerow. We have also cleared several miles of woodland from ivy, which was smothering a lot of the trees.
Natasha’s Garden
One of our customers, Natasha, had suffered some health difficulties which meant that she had not been in a position to look after her garden for some while. She knew what she wanted and designed the all the changes herself, then THIS carried out the work. The results were spectacular. Our team moved 30 tonnes of stone and put in 100 plus metres of edging, plus reshaped all her plants.
Stowmarket Cemetery
Stowmarket Town Council approached us as their new cemetery had become overgrown and they needed help to renovate it. It was a pleasure for us to take on this job and to restore the cemetery and also do some clearing in the old cemetery. Since then, we have been maintaining the new cemetery and carrying out other work in the town. Our work has been really appreciated by the local people: “ … made a visit to my parents’ grave in the new cemetery this morning and would like to say how pleased we were with all the tidying up taking place. The cemetery has been opened up and looks great. You have done an excellent job, enough to make it look cared for but not too much so it’s cut back to within an inch of its life”.
The Village of Wretton
We have the contract to carry out the mowing work for the pretty village of Wretton in West Norfolk, which the team thoroughly enjoy.
